Cats, Crafts & Saving Cash

Posted by Kat C on Saturday, November 22, 2014, In : cats
Well it's been a bit of a busy few months.  I'm still working on being largely self employed working as a Life Skills Coach and although it's tough going I still love it and don't regret taking voluntary redundancy.  I think if I'd stayed I'd have been so stressed and that wouldn't have done my mental health much good.  I'm still getting some benefits plus I'm doing some casual hours for the NHS on their mental health Service User Council. It's challenging as I'm sitting in meetings with top ...

Well the sad day has come.  The puddy tats left us on Sunday and have gone to live in their new home :'(  It was sad but it was always the deal so it was expected.  We have lots of lovely memories and some great pics :)

Here's Bandy looking extra cute :)

And Mouse looking elegant as always :)

And I couldn't end this post without playing this :)

Cats and Crochet

Posted by Kat C on Sunday, September 29, 2013, In : Crafting
Hotel le chat has been open for business again and we have 2 different cats staying with us :)  They are a little older than our usuals and are here to stay a for a longer spell, probably a few months while their new owner moves home.  They originally belonged to a friend of a friend who died suddenly and were staying with a relative.  They weren't really cat people and had dogs so it was a bit stressful for all concerned, so we have them both to stay with us.

They are Bandy and Mouse.  They ...

Summer Hols

Posted by Kat C on Saturday, July 6, 2013, In : Out & About
I've just got back from a very enjoyable week cat sitting for a friend up in Cheshire. It was a lovely week, slightly iffy weather to start with but it soon perked up :)  Bob the cat acted as a fine host too.  He treated us to the full array of mews, meows, yodels and other assorted noises from his wide repertoire.  He's an older cat than the two we usually cat sit but he was adorable.  So friendly and purry, and slept curled up between us every night.

We had a pretty chilled out week with so...

Feeling Inspired

Posted by Kat C on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, In : Jewellery
Although I've been feeling quite meh recently, creatively I've been feeling really inspired and I've been having an experiment with some of the materials that I've had gathering dust for ages.

I've played around with the idea of making gift cards in the past but never managed to make anything that I was that happy with.  I think what I learnt was that card making is a whole lot trickier than it looks.  You have to be very neat and if you decide to sell them then you're probably not going to ...

Busy Busy

Posted by Kat C on Saturday, March 24, 2012, In : Gardening
My health has been a bit meh the last couple of weeks so I've been keeping myself busy crafting, gardening and stroking cats :)  First up, I got a parcel in the post Thursday from my swap partner, Mary.  We were both taking part in a Candy Swap on Cut Out & Keep and she thoroughly spoilt me with some lovely sweets from Italy :)  Here's what I got.

In amongst all the lovely chocolate was these really beautiful earrings in the shape of spirals.  They're really pretty and very me :)

I've also been...

The Real Reason I Have an Allotment

Posted by Kat C on Sunday, March 18, 2012, In : Gardening
Wednesday was a really nice day, lots of bright sunshine and warm, so after a potter around the charity shops I decided to head down the plot.  I did a bit of weeding between the onions as it was being to look more like a lawn than an onion patch.  It was hard work but satisfying and I found I had way more onions than I realised.

I then went for a little potter around the site to look at others plots and see if the allotment cat was about.  Sure enough he/she was also having a wonder so I ha...

Sprung by the Catnip Police

Posted by Kat C on Sunday, March 11, 2012, In : Gardening
I was at one of our local garden centres on Friday so picked up a few bits for the plot.  I just got some fresh Thyme, as ours got killed by the frost and some Catnip.  I went down the plot today with said plants, cleared a space for both and planted them and then went about my normal business of weeding and so on.  Anyway, as I was heading out I spotted Allotment Cat 2.  He came bounding over as he usually does and then he went a little potty.  He couldn't get enough of my bag and was rollin...
