Like many music fans across the globe, I was really saddened by the news that David Bowie had passed away.  Although I didn't own tons of his music, just a couple of best of compilations, his influence can be heard throughout my music collection and the bands I listened to growing up and today.  I think the theatrical approach he took to his to performances and the way he challenged the gender norms, wore make up and was never afraid to experiment made him a great influence on the whole goth scene and it's aesthetic.

I can hear him in many of my favourite bands, especially Placebo, who he frequently played with and supported throughout their career. Also Bauhaus and various members solo music, Depeche Mode, Dave Vanian and Sisters of Mercy.

Here are a few of my favourite David Bowie songs plus some covers and collaborations by others.
