Spring Cleaning

Posted by Kat C on Sunday, April 12, 2015, In : Organising
I've been having a bit of a tidy of my craft supplies and I'm rather pleased with myself as I've been brave and done a cull of my beads and charms.  I've managed to prune out 4 bags worth of beads, buttons and charms.  I figured the beads I don't plan on using are just cluttering up my supplies and it was making it hard to see what nice beads I had.  As most of my woodle doodle dandy designs jewellery is made from natural materials I've kept the wooden, glass, metal, ceramic and gemstone bead...

40 Before 41

Posted by Kat C on Saturday, October 11, 2014, In : Organising
Well it's been a bit of a while since I've blogged.  I think when it goes more than a few weeks I start to feel the pressure to post something extra amazing to make up for the gap :/ Well it's my 40th Birthday today so that's given me the necessary prod to blog.

Well like my post last year I have decided to do an update on my 39 before 40 list of goals for the next year.

Here's what I had for last years goals with updates:

1. Loose weight - ideally get back to 10 stone - I've been losing weight ...

Bat Fit 2014

Posted by Kat C on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, In : Organising

This year in my attempts to get a bit healthier I have signed myself up to the Bat Fit 2014 challenge (click on the icon above or in the slide bar for more info).

The theme this year is Detoxifying so I've decided to revisit my goals for this year and focus on the health related ones.

1.  Lose Weight
Well, my biggy for this year is to lose some weight.  I'd ideally like to get back to 10 stone but I don't think I can realistically do that by the end of the year.  I will however move significan...

Dead Bodies and Kitchen Sinks

Posted by Kat C on Friday, December 13, 2013, In : Organising
I've been seeing pics of the contents of peoples handbags around the web for a while now but never got round to doing it myself.  It was probably partly due to the sheer amount of shit I carry round with me on a daily basis and the thought of sharing that with the world.  I decided I would brave it and see exactly how much crap had accumulated in my bag and was pleasantly surprised.  Judging by the weight of my bag you would expect there to be a couple of dead bodies and at least one kitchen ...

I Haz Plague!

Posted by Kat C on Saturday, December 7, 2013, In : Organising
I'm feeling seriously grim at the mo.  I seem to have picked up a nasty virusy thing and I have the most painful cough.  I'm not sleeping especially well as a result :(  Yesterday I had to take the day off work and spent most of it in bed.  I have been playing round with my website though and have changed my shop section so that it uses my Etsy shop interface.  This makes life much easier for potential customers as you can now buy multiple items and pay with your credit card.  It also allows ...

39 Before 40

Posted by Kat C on Saturday, October 12, 2013, In : Organising
Yesterday was my 39th birthday so I thought I'd try something a little different. I've seen this idea on a few blogs and thought I'd give it a whirl.  These are my 39 goals for the coming year.

1. Loose weight - ideally get back to 10 stone
2. Sell some of my artwork
3. Find a way of having a permanent furry house guest - i.e. a cat
4. Do something creative every day
5. Make some my own clothes and wear them in public
6. Enter some of my artwork into an exhibition
7. Sell more jewellery online

My Newly Organised Crafting Area

Posted by Kat C on Monday, June 10, 2013, In : Organising
This weekend I got busy sorting out my crafting materials so that they were in less of a muddle.  I'm also doing a private destash swap with Mary from Cut Out & Keep so that also acted as a good motivation :)

Here's how it's looking now.

Here's the whole area with my desk and shelves.

My freshly tidied crafting corner :)

Here's a close up of my desk with my tubs of sewing stuff, ribbon, threads, etc

And here's where I store all my jewellery making tools, beads, findings, etc

My Crafting Space

Posted by Kat C on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, In : Organising
Last month one of the best neighbours we've had moved back home to Japan.  We miss her loads but we're still in touch and we have loads of bits from her flat which she gave us, so we have plenty of things to remind us of her.  One of these is her old jewellery making desk.  She made absolutely beautiful jewellery, what I'd call 'proper' jewellery making as she created her jewellery completely from scratch, drawing out the designs and creating them using precious metals like gold and silver an...

Planning for 2012

Posted by Kat C on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, In : Organising
I've been having a bit of a think about which direction I'd like to take my blog for 2012. I thought I'd set myself some goals for the coming year and see how many I can achieve.

1.  Include some tutorials and recipes.  My aim is to include one a month.  I'm hoping this will get me back into cooking/baking and back into crafting.  Other than make my jewellery for my shop and paint I barely do any other crafting and I used to love it.

2.  To add some reviews and interviews to my blog.  I aim t...
