Yesterday we took a trip out to Oxfordshire to the four day arts and crafts event called Art in Action.  It was an amazing day and the weather was glorious.  There was every kind of art/craft you could imagine including music, ceramics, glass blowing, sculpture, jewellery making, decoupage, paintings, marbling and so much more.

I especially loved the work by sculpture, Rachel Ducker.  She did the most amazing figures made from wire and they made me think of wickerwork or something similar.  Here's a couple of hers;

I also loved looking round and watching people while they worked.  I especially loved this makeshift craft space Milliner, Jane Corbett, had created for herself.  I loved her inspiration board as it was completely choc-a-block with fabric swatches, colour cards, photos and ideas.

There were also stalls selling crafting materials and I was quite proud of myself for the restraint I showed.  I bought the odd thing but only things that would have been tricky to pick up elsewhere.  I got some wool roving and felting needles, as I want to have a go at making some felted jewellery.  I also got a very cool bag of thread scraps and some decoupage paper to include in some of my artwork.  The bag of threads doesn't sound that special but it was my favourite thing.  Its quite big and has the most amazing array of wools, threads and ribbons and the colours are so pretty.  It looks like a bag of treasure :)
